Day 4: Linen closet

I have a confession- I may have a small amount of o.c.d. Its selective though...as you can see by my previous posts.  This is one of those times when it kicks in.  My "linen closet" is actually an open shelf unit bought from Ikea. I cannot stand it if my towels are not all folded the same way, with the nice side out.  When my hubby, so kindly folds them and puts them away, it takes all of my willpower to not correct the folding.  That normally lasts about a day...if he's lucky.  (I try to do it when he isn't looking. This make it appear as if I do not care. Pick your battles. If he want's to fold them, have at it! I'll just do it again later.)

Day 3: Tupperware Cabinet

Well, day 3 brought me to the tupperware cupboard...if that is what you would call it.  It is actually more like my; Cookie cutter, mixing bowl, food processor, blender, deep fryer (that we never use), tupperware and whatever else is thrown in there cupboard.  Yeah...its one of those!  BUT, NOT anymore!  Say HELLOOOOO! To organization and gooooood-bye to craptastic, try to keep it all from falling out-ness!

Its ok, you can judge.  Its really quite embarrassing.

And now, you may stare in awe.  I LOVE organization! I can hardly wait until I do all of the stuff on my pinterest page! Only one problem....my house may be too small.

Day 2: My desk

Ok, so let me start off by saying...the field of work I am in requires me to be efficient, organized, on my game and....have a clean desk.  That's at work.  When I get home, the LAST thing I want to do is organize my desk.  I try to stay ahead of the game, but with a hubby and two kids who think its the crap catcher...I tend to fall behind...a lot.  SO, day 2 was a little bit of challenge.  Most of it was filing and recycling the crap. Due to my inability to pay my bills on time when I was younger I learned two things: 1) Notes, notes, notes. You make notes about who, when, why and what was said when speaking with customer service reps. 2) Keep your stuff for at least a year.  Now, I pay on time, but I still stick to those two main rules.  Paranoid? Possibly.  So, with all of that being said, I give you my before and afters.

One word...GOOOO. Along with the involuntary shiver.

Aaaaaaannnnndddddd.....breathe! THIS is how it should always look!

Day 1: The Junk Drawer

So, today was day 1 of my challenge for organization! To be honest...the junk drawer was 1/2 organized. So, this only took me a few minutes! I bought some bins from Walmart, 3/$1.34.  I bought long ones- for the pens, pencils, tools. I bought smaller ones for miscellaneous organizing.  So, below are my before and after pictures!

Yeah...so...it was kinda organized. I mean...we could totally find a pen if we needed one...right? Ok, so, I took a deep breath (and please ignore the mess in the background...I had just gotten home from work and hadn't cleaned yet. Hey...DON'T JUDGE!)

Ok, and the AFTER! Hellllooooooo organization!  So, its only day one, but man is that awesome or what?!

I'm going to confess...I'm really scared about day 2...its my computer desk and I and getting the heebies just looking at it! You want to know the really sad part? Its what I do...for a job...that I get paid for! DEEEEEP BREATH!

And so we begin...

Today...I'm home sick.  I'm sick of being sick, so I decided to start a blog while I wait for e-mails from work. I have a lot of work to do this year around our house, but my plan is to start in the entry way and make a to-do list for each weekend, so that I am not so overwhelmed and continue to put it off.  I am also going to take the 21 day challenge to organizing...starting tomorrow...I hope.  We shall see.  You can do it to: Just click here!  I'm excited to start whipping our house into shape! Our winter has been far from normal with all crappy brown we have to look at.  I would much rather have a gorgeous white blanket covering the landscape.
